Spangler Candy asked us to develop their major brand and corporate sites, as well as a series of iOS apps to help bring the DumDums brand into the digital age.
Fllick-a-Pop is a fast-paced twitcher game that prompts players to "eat" as many DumDums as possible in a limited period of time. We incorporated the pop flavors, colors and wrappers directly into the gameplay to enhance product and brand awareness. The game ties into Apple's Game Center to promote sharing and social interaction. Since its release, the app has had over 1.5 million downloads.
DumDums Drums is an iPad app that challenges kids to follow the Dum Dums Drum Man as he rocks it out on stage. Users play a game of Simon Says by immitating what the Drum Man plays on his drum set. The longer you play, the harder it becomes. The game encourages competition and multiple plays, and is tied to social media. It's a fun, front-of-mind brand extension for Dum Dums.
We redesigned Spanger's web presences, too. For the DumDum Pops site, FORM designed a fun and welcoming interface, and used a combination of programming, design and illustration to introduce online brand enhancements including an online game, screen savers and wallpapers, an interactive trivia quiz, online coloring books and a flavor-voting contest. Spangler's corporate site ties into their CRM to allow for bulk purchasing.
