About The Speaker
Daniel Mansoor joined United Way of Greater Cleveland as Vice President, Resource Development and Chief Philanthropy Officer in October 2016. Mr. Mansoor comes to United Way with 30 years experience in philanthropy and fundraising. He began his development career at Cornell University, where he earned a B.S. in engineering and an MBA, and advanced to serve as senior vice president at Brandeis University. In 1995, Mr. Mansoor founded GoodWorks Group, a nonprofit consultancy and philanthropy advisory firm for national and international clients.
In 2000, Mr. Mansoor guided the founding of a community foundation in Tompkins County (Ithaca, NY), now with assets over $15 million. He was appointed chair of the planning committee for the 2004 Family Foundation Conference of the Council on Foundations held in New York City. Mr. Mansoor serves as adjunct faculty at the Mandel School at Case Western Reserve University, teaching the graduate fundraising and philanthropy course. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, he moved to Cleveland with his family in 2006.
As Vice President, Resource Development and Chief Philanthropy Officer, Mr. Mansoor joins United Way as its leadership is redefining, reorganizing and repositioning the 103-year-old organization in the community. He leads all fundraising and stewardship initiatives and guides the United Way through a comprehensive development and technology assessment while adding the organization’s Community Engagement and Marketing divisions to his overall purview.
