Cleveland Zoological Society

This website for the Cleveland Zoological Society uses a colorful, friendly design and high-level programming to help visitors support and engage with the CZS online. The site automatically pulls fresh content via social media feeds, and the CZS staff can manage their content quickly with our powerful CMS. Our integrated CRM enables them to manage and track their patrons' activity and donations. The site is responsive so it's mobile friendly, and onboard SEO tools ensure it is indexed and easy to find.

In addition, CZS asked us to overhaul the design of their quarterly print publication, ZMagazine. We designed a clean new look and modern tone that dovetailed perfectly with the design of the website and helped elevate the tone of their overall brand.

Chatbot, Exhibition Website + CMS

Akron Art Museum

The Akron Art Museum asked us to create Dot, a guide that runs on mobile devices via Facebook's Instant Messenger. Dot takes visitors through a six-stop "choose your own adventure" tour of the museum's permanent collection. Visitors are able to make choices along the tour that allow them to design their own experience. We created the chatbot, edited their content to give it a current and friendly voice, and directed the production of a kiosk video to help visitors learn to use the guide.

We also created With a Trace: Photographs of Absence, an experimental microsite for a photography exhibition at the museum. The site is specially optimized for use on tablets within the exhibition itself and uses the accelerometer to shift and slide content when the device is tilted.

Our goal in creating this website for The Contemporary Arts Center was to build an online presence that is at once dynamic, forward-thinking and user-friendly. The site automatically pulls social media feeds to keep the content fresh, and encourages sharing, memberships, and donations by using strategic design and message placement. Embedded video and related media such as slidecasts, podcasts, and catalogs are automatically associated with exhibitions, programs andevents. The site houses a 70-year archive of the museum's past exhibitions. All content is manageable through a customized content management system and is completelyresponsivefor a seamless mobile experience.

Great Lakes Theater

We created a distinctive brand image and website for Great Lakes Theater. The new look makes use of a memorable color story and typography with tightly cropped photos and immersive imagery to reflect the Hanna theater's intimate environment. The website and print collateral are married seamlessly, and the web content is dynamic through our easy-to-use, customized content management system. The print campaign includes everything from catalogs, posters, and postcards to street pole banners and venue signage.

The theater also asked us to devise a modern version of the traditional lobby donation box. In response, we created the 'Humbug Machine', a 3 x 8-foot interactive kiosk that features life-size video footage of the classic holiday curmudgeon Scrooge enticing audience members to make a donation to support arts education programming for students via an attached bill collector. When a bill is inserted, Scrooge acknowledges the bill denomination and responds with a variety of in-character antics, from comical to outrageous. Patrons are encouraged to share photos of their kiosk experience on social media using the hashtag #HumbugMachine. Special thanks to Shape for shooting and editing the Scrooge video.

Cleveland Play House

The Cleveland Play House asked us to develop a new website with loads of flexibility, advanced features, SEO tools, COPE content and automated social tie-ins. Because we build our sites on our own content management system, we're free to be creative with our front-end design, while providing easy tools for managing content. The end result is a beautifully branded and unique site that's powerful and easy to use for fans and CPH staff alike. We designed this campaign for the Cleveland Play House season repertory.

In addition, we created a distinctive new look for their season campaign. We designed the campaign look, tone and color palette, ideated concepts for each show, and selected talent and art directed the photo shoots.

Cleveland International Film Festival

This website for the Cleveland International Film Festival includes one of the most dynamic and useable festival schedules on the web, as well as ticket sales, members-only content, in-line movie trailers, related media and real-time social media stream. The content is dynamic and the content management system is tailored especially for the unique needs of the festival, including an integrated, point-of-sale barcode scanner system. The site automatically switches to different modes to display targeted content before, during and after the festival. CIFF staff can manage their content quickly with our easy and powerful CMS. Our integrated CRM empowers CIFF to manage and track their patron relations.

We also developed an Alexa Skill for the Cleveland International Film Festival that enables users of the Amazon Echo family of products to request film synopses, film times, categories, and general festival information using only their voice. The first Alexa Skill for any multi-day festival (film or otherwise) in the United States, it allows users to ask questions about the Cleveland International Film Festival such as "What films are playing on April 8th?".

In addition, we created an iPhone/Android app to allows film-goers to easily search films by title, category, program, or day. Film details, images, trailers, and up-to-the-minute screening information are available in real-time, along with theater locations and more.

The City Club of Cleveland

The City Club of Cleveland is one of the nation's great free speech forums. They asked us to build a new website with a powerful backend that would help its members and the public at large learn about and participate in upcoming forums. When the City Club is broadcasting a forum, the site switches into "LIVE" mode and serves a live video feed as well as live tweets and member conversations. Members can add forums to their calendar and save them to a favorites list. A deep archive of the City Club's past forums includes audio/podcasts, videos, photos and transcripts dating back to the early 1960s. The City Club can update its content, manage its large membership, accept recurring donations and sell forum tickets all through our CRM and CMS.

To encourage out-of-town tourism as well as longer visits from locals, we designed customized, dynamic maps that allow for cross-pollination of related content and organic discovery.
